To set up your account and log in to the console, click the link you received in the email from SecTeer.
Once logged in to the system, go to the Configuration page to download and install the agent installer.
You can also set the period you want to run the inspections and updates. After being installed, the agent runs in the
background and starts reporting to the SecTeer VulnDetect console.
Applications
Use the Applications page to check every application and its status. Each application is based on the
scheduled scans reported by the installed agents. The number of installations and versions of each application
are displayed so that you can make necessary updates where required.
Create Rules for Patching
Use the Patching section to access Approvals page to approve and deploy pre-configured packages.
We recommend you create a test
group and assign test systems to it so that you can see how the updates/installations work before applying
them to the production system.
Approvals page
On the Approvals page you will see a list of applications indicating the site default approval action for each
application.
Choose the applications to approve, then select one of the rules below:
- Automate Selected Approvals to automatically deploy all future updates
- Approve Version in Selected Approvals to manually approve updates when new versions are available
- Manual approvals will be out-of-date until the new version is approved
- Set Selected Approvals to Block Updates to disable updates from being made available
- Set Selected Approvals to Inherit to inherit the system default or site default action, as applicable
Please note: Updates will not be approved If all applicable approvals are set to Inherit for a host.
Next, deploy the updates to the recommended version collectively to the group.
